My Take: I wanted to pick this book up because I had previously read this author’s book Significance and I liked the writing style. So I found that I liked the writing style of this one too. Though the cover of this one isn’t as appealing as Significance the story was very interesting. It was a unique one, and that’s hard to come by these days. Are there stories that are a little similar in their lore, mmm yeah maybe but this writing style and the way everything is presented was a very intriguing. I didn’t want to put down my Kindle, which led to one tired morning but it was worth it, now I just have to wait for #2 to come out.
I like Clara, she is such a teenage girl, she has had one heck of a hard time with the death of her parents. She was taken in by her pastor and his wife and their gaggle of children they mostly have one rule and that’s for Clara to be home by midnight. Clara is kind of a dreamer, and Eli kind of just pops into her life and Clara is just drawn to him but unlike a lot of other YA stories she doesn’t drop everything and fall into his arms. She’s devoted to her man, though things kind of go a funk there. Eli is also not quite not like other guys, he appears in her dreams and they seem so real, maybe they are maybe they aren’t. Anyway it’s a good story AND it’s $0.99 so it’s worth a look.
