Official Description: This is book #1 in the Argeneau series.
That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau’s bed? He’s not dessert — he’s the main course!
Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate. But there’s another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood … an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn’t hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?
Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger’s bedroom pretty quickly — once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That’s a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into … if he can just get Lissianna to bite.
This book has been on my radar for several years now and I’ve finally gotten around to it. I have discovered that this book is one of those crazy long series’ that focuses on a different character with each book. This is the first book there are 18 published (not counting the novellas) with 2 more coming soon. A Quick Bite focuses on Lissianna and Greg. There are kind of 2 stories that unfold and honestly there isn’t a whole lot of mystery. We’ve got our love story between our two main characters and our ‘action’ or ‘mystery’ with someone trying to kill Lissianna. This is not the best book ever, the characters are kind of plain, the plot is predictable and sometimes outlandish but it is fun. I thought that Lissianna’s ailment was funny actually and it id lend to a little bit of comic relief. What can I really say about this book, I thought it was sappy in a sweet kind of way. I don’t think that anything was meant to be as obvious as it was, but maybe not everyone picked up on the red flags. I liked the relationship between Lissi and Greg mostly because it was sweet, with a little steamy moments. I liked several of the side characters alot and would love to read books about them mostly Thomas and Lucien even though we see Lucien very little he immediately intrigued me. There are so many silly moments that kind of drag this book into the fun category instead of being good, like the sea of women in different colored baby dolls. I mean at 200 years and older that just seems far-fetched, especially when going to a ‘pajama’ party. Also, no one in this world seems to know how to knock. That would irritate the heck out of me. Overall this is a quick and light read if you like sappy vampire romance with a little mystery and mayhem thrown in then give this one a go.
“Life isn’t always easy, Lissianna. It’s full of tough decisions and heartache, and things don’t always work out the way we hoped. Life just doesn’t come with guarantees. And while it’s true that sometimes, by avoiding taking a chance on people, we can avoid some heartache, we might also miss out on the best times of our life. Don’t be afraid to love.”
